Work for us
Current vacancies:
Become a Trustee
We're looking for new trustees to help guide Fluid Motion Theatre Company.
No trustee experience necessary. We will help you through the process.
Fluid Motion is an award winning arts and health charity using theatre and creative activity to improve mental health and wellbeing. We do this from our Creative Hub in Totton, Hampshire. Our Board of Trustees keeps us focused on that purpose, oversees our finances and safeguarding, and helps shape where we go next.
You don't need to be an expert in charity law or finance. What matters is that you care about the work, ask good questions, and are willing to learn.
The commitment: four Board meetings a year, around an hour a month on focused support, plus preparation and one away day. Voluntary, with expenses reimbursed. Hampshire based with hybrid working. Trustees must be 18 or over.
How to apply
No application form. Just tell us why you'd like to become a trustee, either in a letter of intent (max two sides of A4) or a video (max three minutes).
Send it to office@fluidmotiontheatre.com, addressed to Leigh Johnstone, Artistic Director, and Zoie Golding, Chair.
Applications close Wednesday 21 October 2026. Interviews are on Wednesday 28 October, with early evening slots available. The first Board meeting is Wednesday 11 November.
Want to talk it through first, or apply in a different format? Email us at the same address. We're happy to help.
Volunteer
Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to operate.
We have been supported by groups of wonderful volunteers since we first started back in 2010. Whatever time you can give and whatever your interests, we hope we can find an opportunity to suit you, whether it’s helping children take part in an activity, helping out with marketing, or supporting a fundraising campaign.
By volunteering with us, you are helping more people take part in creative activities to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Many of our volunteers have a personal interest in mental health and bring with them their knowledge and experience, which is invaluable.
We welcome people from all backgrounds, particularly those who live in Totton and the New Forest.
Support our charity
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Please join us in supporting mental health through creativity. Together, we can create a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
